Directed by Barbora Chalupová and Vít Klusák, the film is based on a real-life social experiment that is both shocking and eye-opening in its honesty.
At the center of the story are three adult actresses who create social media profiles posing as 12-year-old girls. Within hours of registering their accounts, they begin receiving a flood of messages from unknown adult men. Some quickly resort to manipulation, psychological pressure, and sexually suggestive communication.
The film provides a detailed look at how online grooming works — from building trust to gradually drawing a child into potentially harmful interactions.
For professionals, educators, and parents, Caught in the Net is an extremely valuable educational tool. It creates a foundation for meaningful conversations with teenagers about:
- the risks of communicating with strangers online;
- the importance of protecting personal data;
- recognizing manipulation and unsafe behavior;
- steps to take when facing online threats.
The film can be effectively used in classrooms, training sessions, and awareness-raising activities.
In addition, experts from Docudays NGO have prepared a Guide to Protection from Online Risks, which provides practical advice on staying safe online.
